Jump Up! in St. Croix

Jump Up! The US Virgin Islands’ most popular carnival

Dance to calypso and savor the delicious cuisine of St. Croix at Jump Up!, a colorful celebration of music and dance occurring four times per year, takes visitors and locals to the streets of Christiansted for extraordinary music, vibrant costumes, fantastic food, and traditional dancing.

Streets and the boardwalk are closed off for this impressive festival, which is sponsored by the Christiansted Restaurant and Retail Association. In general, Jump Up! happens on:

Bands, dancers, and vendors make this carnival a unique experience for the entire family. Moko Jumbies have been performing for almost 200 years in the Virgin Islands. These costumed dancers showcase their talent on six-foot-tall stilts and move through the streets, as the legend goes, to scare away evil spirits. Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies use fire spinning and flaming batons in their incredible dance routines.
